I got 5 kids. I know it's a lot. And the dad is on meth so he don't help me for almost a year. So I am back in school to be able to afford my kids. Can I qualify for any grants help? I have no car and it takes me almost an hour and 20 min to get there. I take my kids to school. Then I go to school and make it back just in time to pick them up from school. Can I qualify for any grants help?
Start with the Department of Education at edu.gov. You should definitely fill out a FAFSA form if you haven't already. It will let you find out what sorts of financial aid you are eligible for. You might even qualify for a Pell Grant, which is also accessed through the FAFSA. If you're interested you could also take a look at this quick Pell Grant Eligibility Quiz to see if your level of income is low enough to qualify you.
Next I would chek out Grants for Women. It includes a section about assistance programs for school specifically for women. We don't know your age but there are some special programs and scholarships for women over 35 who are returning to school for the same reasons you are.
