I am a 56 year old woman who has become unemployed after 15 years in the same company with a partial disability that prevents me from working in the field I was doing, and only able to lift up to 15 lbs which even prevents me from getting low paying jobs.  I'm attending school now, only two classes because I couldn't do the 4 classes originally planned. Therefore, grant money was cut down whereby I have no funds. I study twice as long just to get caught up with computer skills and other skill sets and in the meantime, my savings has run out.  I am in need of emergency rental assistance fast. Therfore, hopefully, there is grant available for such emergencies...I pray.  Please advise. Where can one find emergency rental assistance in Albuquerque, New Mexico?

I don't know of specific "grants" for your situation but there are organizations that offer services and assistance for needs like yours. Specific to the Albuquerque area, your Albuquerque Housing Authority is a good place to start. They have services specifically for seniors, low income families and those who are disabled -- so it sounds like your should qualify. If for some reason that doesn't work out for you try contacting Catholic Charities in your area as well as the local office of the Salvation Army.  And check out the article  I Need Help -- it reviews a number of options to get quick, local assistance.
