I'm wanting to build a park on a river by an old bridge where they made a movie. It'll be a place where families can bring their kids to fish and play and enjoy the outdoors, the freedom, and fresh air. Are there grants to build rural parks?

Digs that sounds like a very appealing idea. Here are a few ideas about where to look for some funds:

- Check your state web site! States give out a lot of grants and often want to encourage preservation of important sites and activities for families and kids. You could have a winner here! Look for a section about Grants and if you dont see one use the site's search function and enter the term Grants.

- If you are  nonprofit that's an official 501c3  you will find a lot more grant opportunities are available both at the local and federal level. If you're not then you might look for one in your area that shares your vision and see if they would like to partner with you on the project.

- This could also be a good project to attract attention on crowdfunding sites like gofundme. If the public likes the idea they might be willing to pitch in to make it happen. Learn more about gofundme and a few other crowfunding sites in this article about findng "free money".
