Hi my name is Tammy and I am a single mom of a 17 year old young man but I am also on disability. I need to know if there are any real grants out there for people like me that have gotten behind on their bills and need some help just to catch up and also to get my car fixed. My son has epilepsy and I have to get my car back on the road. If I could just get caught back up I know I can then do this all on my own once again. Please help I can sure use all I can get right now. Thank you in advance! Are there any real grants for single disabled moms to pay bills and get car fixed?

So sorry about your situation. No I don't believe there are any "real grants" that are available to help you. But I admire your spirit and I bet others might too. You might consider trying sharing your story on a crowdfunding platform. These are websites that let you tell your story and other donate to help you out!

**Gofundme** is a personal crowdfunding site that might be perfect for you because they focus on helping families with challenging situations like yours. They do take an 8% cut of any money you raise. Another possibility would be **YouCaring”. This organization does not charge you any fee regardless of how much money you raise. And **modestneeds** likes to give short term support for folks that are already working hard and just need a boost so they can get their lives back together. That sounds like you! If you need help putting together a campaign the sites offer a lot support. Perhaps your son or a teenager from a local school or church could help as well.

Also, there is an excellent website for the disabled and those who care for them. It's updated daily and is pretty good at guiding you to resources, including those in your own zip code. If you're not already familir with it, take a look at this guide to using disability.gov.

Check out the article low income help to see if there are other benefits or programs that you haven't thought of that could help you. Also there is a questionnaire on benefits.gov that you can fill out and it will tell you what aid programs you and your family might qualify for.

Hey if you do set up a campaign on a crowdfunding site, come back here and tell us about it, maybe some of our many readers would support you!
