I applied for a federal grant and was told that I would receive it, but they keep asking for money before they will give it to me. Is it normal to pay for a federal grant? Should you have to pay thousands of dollars to get a federal grant that you are given?
No, no, no --- by definition you NEVER have to pay for a grant. Grants are financial awards that never have to be paid back. Please be aware there are lots of scam artists out there who want to pretend they have grants for you if you will provide lots of personal/financial informattion and/or pay a big fee for the grant. Don't give out any info no matter how tempting it sounds. And please go right now and read this helpful article about scams:
