I live in Illinois and need help from the Goverment to replace my roof. Where do I look?

I have tried on the state level and county level. All I get told is there is a three year wait.

I don't have three years, I need help now.

This is a problem that millions of peope seem to be facing so we'e not surprised to hear of the waiting list in your state. First recommendation:  get on that waiting list. Even if you don't have three years, get on the list in case someething happens that helps to shorten it.

Beyond that, here are some suggestions: (1) try doing a basic internet search for "roof repair help" and the name of your city or county. You might find a local business that is doing a special promotion to help folks. (2) Contact local churches to see if they do similar projects in their area. See if the organization called "Rebuilding Together" has a group in your area and contact them. Also look for other groups that are part of a network of non-profits called "Neighbor Works." You can check by going to their website at atnw.org and clicking on "find a neighbor works organization."  I found these ideas in this article about home repairs.
