Hello I am a cancer survivor on disability and a struggling artist and freelance writer with a passion for health and wellness coaching. i struggle financially between times of landing writing assignments and selling art. I am very responsible with money and work very hard to keep expenses minimal. I also volunteer my time to a local organization with a global mission to support Christian micro finance institutions. I need funds to pay off a bad auto loan so I can get into something that doesn't require as much in repairs. I also cook for my dad since my mom passed away in Nov '16. (I was her caregiver for 4 years) the loss was devastating and I am only now able to eat and sleep "normally."

As you can see I'm not idle. But I am struggling. I've tried many jobs and either the environment around me is bad for my lungs (I have lung damage from radiation) or the sitting/standing is too hard on my back (also radiation damage plus car accidents). Working outside the home is not possible except in ways I control my environment and schedule. any forms of assistance would be helpful.

We are not aware of grants that are available to assist cancer survivors with general expenses (as opposed to medical help). There are, however, lots of support groups around the country that offer community support, which could b very useful to you. You can do a zip code search to see if there is one near you at the Cancer Support Community. You can also find some tips for dealing with your financial support in this review of Low Income Help.
