My wife and I need to find out where to get home repairs. We need floor-in ac heat appliances. We own our home. Been here 14 yrs. I get 1187 a month med benefits. My wife gets no benefits and is severely disabled with osteoporosis. We have no one to turn to. Thank you. Who helps disabled very low-income married persons in Texas repair home heating and cooling?

Texas actually has some pretty good grant programs so you might be in luck. Here are some options for you to try:

Contact your utility, explain your situation, and see if they have a program to help you or can refer you to one;

If you are in Dallas, there is a Community Service Department Home Repair Program.

Do an internet search for Habitat for Humanity and see where their nearest office is. They have a program not just for building houses but also for helping low income folks with repairs.
